Purchasing Contract:
Please note that in buying an American Bulldog from Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs, you agree to all of the following:
Pups are sold in the order of deposits taken. A deposit is required to hold your pup and it is set at $300. The deposit will go toward the purchasing price of the puppy and is NON-REFUNDABLE. (That is why it is a deposit)
Payment for the chosen puppy must be paid in full at the latest 2 weeks before pick-up/ shipping date.
Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs guarantees that the pup is healthy and of sound temperament at time of sale. All necessary shots and de-worming have been done and a health record is provided. All registration papers will be provided to the buyer if they have been received from the registration office at the time of pick-up. If they are not available at that time, Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs will send them to the purchaser via mail as soon at they are received.
They buyer is responsible for getting the puppy to a vet for an evaluation within 48 hours of receiving the puppy. This insures all involved that the dog is healthy at the time of sale. Failure to do so voids this contract and all guarantees.
Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs guarantee the dog for a year to be free of any genetic problems and agrees that the pup will have acceptable joint confirmation as determined by OFA/ PennHIP (OFA score of FAIR or better/ Penn HIP score of 0.5 or better). If the dog's hips are rejected from OFA/ PennHIP and the dog has not been bred or studded, Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs will replace the pup with one of comparable value from the next available litter. A replacement pup will be of the same sex as the original unless other arrangements are made by Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs and the purchaser in writing. We must be notified of the results within 30 days of the receipt of results. OFA/ PH rejections and written statements from the licensed vet who performed the x-rays must be sent to Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs. All OFA/ PH x-rays must have the tattoo or microchip number posted on it for proper dog identification.
The buyer has these options:
I. Dog can be returned to Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs at buyers expense.
II. The purchaser can keep the dog as long as it has been spayed or neutered
and proof is forward to Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs.
III. Dog can be euthanized.
All vet reports stating the problems with the dog and all paper work must be returned before a replacement is given. We reserve the right to have our vet evaluate the dog and the results. We do not give cash refunds!
The buyer resumes all responsibilities to carry on with tha appropriate vaccinations, exercise, socialization and feeding schedule to keep the puppy in top physical condition. The buyer also agrees to yearly exams, heart worm tests, and all other preventative procedures to assure great health.
Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs is not responsible for any trouble or damage that the dog may cause. TRAIN YOUR DOG! If the buyer cannot properly train the dog it is their responsibility to hire a trainer.
If the buyer chooses to have the pup spayed or neutered a certificate from the vet is required to be sent to Lucas' High desert Bulldogs for our records.
We also reserve the right to deal with each sale on an individual basis and have the dog returned for any of the following reasons...if we feel that the dog has been abused, neglected, malnourished, used for weight pulling at a young age, any breeding/studding before the age of 20 months for female/ 16 months for male, or any form of dog fighting, all guarantees are void.
Please keep in mind we are not a pet store. We don't always have puppies available. We do offer a waiting list and can take deposits on puppies at any time to hold one in the next litter. We may have 1-2 litters in a year so there may be some sort of a wait involved. It this is a problem let us know up front.
The purchaser agrees that Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs, Lucas' HD Bulldogs or
Lucas' HDB will follow the dogs name at all times. (Example of registered name: "The Hulk of Lucas' HD Bulldogs" /" The Hulk of Lucas' HDB"/ "Lucas' Hulk")
If the purchaser plans on using the dog for breeding, the dog must be at least 20 months old for female and 16 months old for male. Prior to breeding or studding the dog from Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs must be checked and have acceptable results for Hip Dysplasia ( OFA/ PennHIP) , genetic defects and health problems (NCL blood sample). If this is not done prior to any breedignthis contract is void.
Purchaser agrees that if for any reason they cannot care for the dog or decide that they would like to find the dog a new home, the purchaser will contact Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs. Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs have the first option to take the pup back or assist the owner in placing it in a good home. The purchaser also agrees that the pup/dog will not be taken to a shelter or pound! We WILL take back any of our dogs (at no charge to us) if a proper home cannot be found.
Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs reserves the right to void or change the guarantee at any time if the buyer does not follow all the terms and conditions herein.
This guarantee is only valid for the original purchaser. It will not transfer to a new owner unless agreed upon in advance by Lucas' High Desert Bulldogs and put in writing.
